Honda Civic Type-R EP3

Automotive Cars | Honda Civic Type-R EP3 | The EP3 chassis Honda Civic Type R began production in 2001 and even Japanese sold models were manufactured in the United Kingdom. Japanese specification Civic Type R’s are the highest spec of those sold, featuring Recaro seats and helical LSD as standard, and a higher output 158kW (212hp) engine with different camshafts, intake manifold, exhaust and engine management programming. Weighing around 1,200kg handling is excellent and they are a blast to drive… able to change direction in the blink of an eye and the roar of the VTEC engine at high rpm is what motoring dreams are made of.

Like previous versions the Type R received additional seam welding of the chassis for a more rigid frame, uprated brakes and a 6 speed manual transmission. The unique mounting point of the gear knob out of the dash is a memorable design feature of the Civic Type R and is perfectly located next to the steering wheel for quick access, and the throw is short and direct.

Other standard and optional features include dual airbags, ABS brakes (with electronic brake distribution), electric power steering with variable gear ratio, and a leather Momo airbag steering wheel.
